Born in 1844, Agnes grew up in Irish Town near Clarence Town, and Mill Creek near Stroud. With her brother, William, she moved to the Macleay to take care of the domestic chores for the boys.
Agnes married Patrick Smyth, an Irishman whose sister, Rose Smyth, was living on the Macleay when he arrived in Sydney. Patrick and Agnes had seven children.
Agnes died in 1892 and Patrick died in 1924.
